Keeping Your Balance: Posted August 30

There are two sides to every coin. For example, on one side there is embracing and not denying your feelings, while on the other there is behaving with proper manners.

We have discussed the first verses second response--acting out of impulsiveness verses reflecting and acting from a deeper wiser second response. Reflection means giving yourself the time, space, and quietness to allow your thoughts and emotions to settle down to the transcendental depth of your being—like a pebble dropped into a pond of water--then acting from that place of wisdom.

This is the art of living. To understand the concept is good, but of little value if it is not practiced. Like learning to ride a bicycle, it is only through practice that you learn to keep your balance.

The Cosmic Stream: Posted August 25

It has certainly been busy here since the retreat. I have been yearning to write a blog but just couldn’t get to it.

I had a nice conversation the other day. As you know, I talk about the Cosmic Stream and the feeling of support and super fluid flow people feel when they live in accord with the Cosmic Stream, their Dharma, in harmony with nature, etc. Someone was helping out at the Learning Center when the subject came up. They just said something like: “All that is too complicated for me. I just do this because it feels good.”

There have been times when the concepts from my lectures come back to me in very earthy, basic, folksy terms. I love it. Simple expressions of profound truths refesh the soul.

I hope to be blogging more just as soon as things quite down a bit.
