Insight - The Michael Mamas Newsletter

APRIL 2008

In this issue:

Enlightenment can be compared to standing on top of a big ball. Until you can float, it is only natural to roll off the sides. And until you can float, that even feels better. At least you end up on stable ground. If you are trying to balance, it’s difficult. When you can float, it is completely effortless. This summer marks a historic event – the inauguration of the Mount Soma Learning Center and the first Mount Soma summer retreat. This summer, come learn to float in the bliss of the Absolute!

The Learning Center

At the center of Mount Soma, is the Learning Center, our new home for year-round activities. Designed according to Vastu parameters, the Learning Center will provide a beautiful and harmonious gathering place as well a venue for educational programs and spiritual growth activities, including daily meditation, lecture series, Surya Ram Meditation Retreats, classes and seminars, and yoga.

The Learning Center is scheduled to be completed July 1, 2008, at which time we will be furnishing it with chairs, tables, studio equipment, etc. Almost all of the construction costs for the Learning Center have been covered by a generous grant from a private foundation. However, we do need to cover the costs associated with setting up and furnishing the facility. Every contribution will assist in making this the ideal establishment for the evolution of humanity.

You may contribute online (it’s tax deductible) or call 828.355.5867.

Thank you for your support!

Self-assured or Just Superficial? – A New Article by Michael

Over the decades, there have been a number of trends in human behavior. Certainly, clothing style is an obvious one. The days of bell-bottoms and afros are long-passed. Recently, I’ve been reflecting on another more significant trend. It presented itself to me while I was watching a television interview of some teenagers. I couldn’t help see how self-assured and assertive they behaved. Yet, something was off…

An Excerpt from Unconditioned Spirit by Michael Mamas

Unconditioned SpiritFrom Chapter 31.

Becoming transgradiently integrated means functioning in harmony with the source of infinite intelligence, wisdom, and harmony that dwells within the depth of your being.

Without that, one’s life is like a kite without a tail. Every little breeze can set the kite spinning—spinning around a fanaticism, a trend, an emotion, a philosophy, etc.

I remember watching the news once when a number of government leaders were in a heated debate. The scene was pure chaos. In fact at one point, a man jumped up out of his chair, ran over, and attempted to strike another government official. I’m sure I wasn’t alone in wondering how in the world any wise decisions could come from that.

Being established in the Transcendent gives the kite a tail…

Closing Thought

"Sublime vulnerability lies at the depth of every individual. People dance around their vulnerability because to feel it through the veil of distortions is painful. To feel vulnerability in its pure state is exquisite." – Michael Mamas
